Getting Creative:

As the number of available shopping days wind down, it seems there are always a few gifts left to buy.  Often they are for the most difficult people on our list.  The “already-have-everything” friends.

You know who I’m talking about.  Those glamour girls who already have the latest and greatest of virtually everything.  What to do for them?  Get creative!

DIY Vintage:  For the fab fashionista, how about a one-of-a-kind clutch?  Stop off at your favorite vintage shop in search of a fun clutch purse and a statement-making broach pin.  Then attach the broach to the front of the purse….instant glam gift.

Foodie Treat:  Take what is already a yummy gift: Godiva’s Hot Cocoa and make it even more special.  Create a gift package centered around this wintertime treat.  Include a can of whipped topping,  candy canes, marshmallows, maybe some Bailey’s (or whatever liquor your friend would enjoy) and then add in a favorite movie.  Perfect for a quiet evening at home.

Relaxation:  If you already know your friend enjoys massage…this is an oldie but a goody.  Give the gift of relaxation.  Start with a massage gift certificate.  Add in an assortment of relaxing teas and a pair of fluffy slippers…nirvana.

International Fashion:  Does your best friend love French fashion?  Give her a gift she’ll enjoy all year long; a subscription to French Vogue.  Note: With a price of about $150 through Amazon.com, it’s a bit pricey…so consider this as a group gift for someone who’s historically difficult to buy for.

DIY Glitz:  Take a basic pair of tights.  Then visit your local craft store for flat-back crystals or rhinestones.  Affix them in a scattered design to the tights.  When you’re finished, you have designer tights!  Who wouldn’t love to find these under the tree?

And if none of the above works, don’t forget about the old standby…a gift certificate to Starbucks.  It’s saved many gift-givers over the years.  And it’s sure to get used.  Happy holidays!
